about

hi! i'm kaya. my motivation to become a graphic designer is to find
a balance between something with rules and systems while simultaneously being creative. previously, i was a licensed paralegal which i gravitated towards because i have a strong need to help
people and i was really interested in the rules of order in society, particularly what exactly brings the exceptions to these rules.
however, this severely lacked in creativity and i was miserable doing
the work which got to feel extremely repetitive over time. i decided
that if i’m going to go into the arts i still want it to scratch that itch to find order and adhere to a set of rules. i truly feel that i have found
that in Graphic Design, especially when focusing on information design.

earthy colours brought by an influence from my time in nature (big camping fan), and bold shapes used with high contrast (european
design influence due to a polish background) tend to have a strong presence in my work. i aim to creatively bring a positive impact
on the environment around me; not just for humans but for animals
as well. i believe that decorations and patterns are essential to a
space and we are growing nostalgic as a society for a time with more colour and texture.
